How long have you worked at LST?

I’ve worked at LST for just under three and a half years and before that, spent two years doing work experience during the school holidays, so it feels a lot longer than that! I’ve enjoyed every moment.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy being part of an awesome team. Like the rest of estimating team, the most rewarding part for all of us is winning a project – we put a lot of effort into each tender, so it’s a great feeling when that hard work pays off.

What skills do you need to do your role?

All our core values: Enthusiasm – to keep the team going, Accuracy - in compiling tenders, Consistency - in the quality of each tender submitted, On-time - as a missed deadline can mean a lost opportunity, Care & Respect - keeping the clients’ best interest at the forefront of everything you do.

What advice would you give to others who want to be in your position?

A good start is to show enthusiasm and be keen to learn. Get a good understanding of what is required at each stage of a project from the consistent chasing to get the enquiry in and the tender process, through to securing the project, delivering it and then handover.

Tell us one thing most people don’t know about you?

I’m fuelled by chocolate and love reading - once I pick up a book, I can’t put it down until I have read it from front to back. Thankfully you can also eat chocolate whilst reading so I get to enjoy both at the same time!
